Meet the Team
Dr. Huay-Leng Lee, Hons BSc, PhD, DDS
Dr. Huay-Leng Lee has been in practice for over 18 years.
​
Dr. Lee graduated with Honours B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo in 1991. She obtained several scholarships to continue post-graduate studies and completed her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Western University in 1998. Following her graduate studies, she went on to study dentistry at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University.

After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Western University in 2001, Dr. Lee went on to practice as an Associate Dentist in clinics located in Brampton and Guelph. Her familiarity with the Waterloo region brought her back to the vibrant community of Waterloo where she acquired the current dental practice from a retiring dentist in 2004.

Her commitment to Continuing Education helps her to provide the highest possible standard of care to her patients. She enjoys working with and educating patients on improving their dental health.

Dr. Lee and her husband have been married for over 25 years and they have two wonderful children. In the summer you can find them out exploring Ontario. She enjoys going to movies, fishing, hot yoga and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Matthew Chan, Hons BSc, MSc, PhD, DDS FRCD(C) - Periodontist
Dr. Matthew Chan graduated from the University of Toronto (Honours BSc, Masters Sc, PhD Periodontology) and the University of Western Ontario (DDS). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(C)).
​
Dr. Chan's focus is on dental implant therapy, bone and soft tissue reconstruction/grafting, cosmetic periodontal surgery, and oral medicine.
Dr. Chan loves to help organize and run dental mission trips in underserviced regions in other countries. His past dental mission work included locations in the Amazons, Brazil and Chiapas, Mexico.

Dr. Brian Kumer, DDS
Dr. Brian Kumer graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1984. He is a general practitioner who focuses on wisdom teeth removal, complicated extractions, and dental implant placement. He has completed many continuing education courses with a special emphasis on extractions and implant surgery. He is a recent graduate of the Gide institute, a high-level implant training centre based in Santa Monica California.

Dr. Kumer is also certified in the administration of oral sedation and works closely with an anesthesiologist for I.V. sedation. Dr. Kumer is passionate about his career. He loves his work and looks forward each day to helping his patients reach their desired dental goals.
Dr. Kumer has two daughters, loves to travel and recently got married. He has travelled to Israel and the Philippines doing volunteer dentistry. Dr. Kumer recently reached his lifelong goals of climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and the “Trek to Everest Base Camp”.
Sandra – Reception Manager
Sandra started at our dental practice in 2002 and has been working with Dr. Lee since 2004. As a valued member of our team, Sandra will be the first one to greet you with a smile. With her experience and knowledge in the dental office, she can help you with your insurance questions, claims submissions and the scheduling of your next appointments.

Sandra and her husband have a young active son, Lucas, who keeps them very busy. She also enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Emily – Dental Hygienist
Emily graduated with Honours from the Dental Assisting program at Algonquin College in 2006 and from the Dental Hygiene program in 2009. She is a member of the CDHA and has current CPR and First Aid. She strives to make every client feel comfortable and have a positive dental experience.
Andrea – Dental Hygienist
Andrea grew up in Waterloo and graduated from George Brown College in 2015. She has been working with Dr. Lee on some Fridays since 2017. She is passionate about putting her clients at ease and ensuring a positive dental experience. She loves her career as a Dental Hygienist and considers all of her patients family. In her spare time, Andrea loves being with family, going on ATV trips up north and visiting her antique booth in Woodstock.
Srishti (Tee) - Dental Assistant
Srishti is a Dentist who completed her Bachelors of Dental Science in India and a Diploma in Healthcare Administration from Conestoga College. She is one of our Dental Assistants and helps at the Front Desk. In her spare time, she likes to read and write poetry and is enthusiastic about Science, travel and art.

Cheristina - Dental Assistant
Cheristina graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Oxford College in 2020 and is a Certified Level II Dental Assistant. She has experience in both clinical and administrative roles.

Cheristina is passionate about providing excellent dental support and creating a positive patient experience.
